We caught 2 viewings at the Jacksonville Film Festival. the first was ‘Chasing the Devil’, which I blogged heavily about. The other was the ‘After Dark’ Short films. The first was a documentary about ministries trying to help people out of the gay lifestyle. The short films were varied in nature.
We walked out of one of the 2 viewings, asked for a refund because they just made us sick. We weren’t given one. I’m not giving up on that point….
and no, it wasn’t the one about the homosexual ministries. we walked out of the ‘After Dark’ short films with queezy stomachs. here are my observations from the night at Fuel Coffeehouse in Jax.

heavy hearted for joe.
I’ve decided to let ya’ll know the news about Jozef’s arrest today since you’ve probably already heard…..in case you don’t know me, they call me Big John. I’m 33 this Saturday…I have a lovely and awesome wife that loves God with all her heart. I teach high school math. And I’m a youth pastor at Celebration Church. While working with high school and middle school kids in St. Johns County for the past 7 years, I’ve seen a lot of things. I’ve had major disappointments, and sometimes, major blessings. The roller coaster life of adolescence is something to behold, and me and Rachel can’t help but do our best to help through Christ’s strength. Yesterday, I sat at the new skate park and, along with a couple of friends, made a video. It told the story of this past year in the life of jozef miller. he used to attend church and was a major influencer of kids….then he made some bad decisions. in the past year, he’d left church, and most of the christian friends he had. I tried calling him, but he’d rarely pick up. In April, he was arrested for dealing drugs in St. Johns county………. On May 30, in jail, Jozef gave his heart to Christ. He said he realized he was angry at God about things that he shouldn’t have blamed God for…things Joe had done to himself. I went to see him while he was there in jail, and sent him books to help him grow in his walk. |
