we hit san jose costa rica today at noon. we walked through area neighborhoods here next 6:8 ministries, led by an old friend of mine, Spencer, one of the 3 youth pastors i knew when i first moved to st. johns county back in 01.
To see the projects that our quick strike teams have done was really moving. they built a 2 room concrete house for 2 notorious crack addicted brothers… on a lot that had once been shin deep in household trash. they finished a community center for children in san pablo, a place spencer took us that was dirt paths and tiny homes on on top of another, with questionable sewage and many sick children.
our team is pretty spent. there was a real spiritual high of seeing this neighborhood that has been so impacted by mission trip teams….and in many ways i know it will inspire us in our projects this week.
